Hyderabadi Biryani - Sanpada

Hyderabadi Biryani Lovers - Sanpada to Vashi

Hyderabadi biryani, I know that makes your mouth water. If you are from Hyderabad then your weekend is not complete unless you have one. Does not mean that others outside Hyderabad do not like it.
Thought of renouncing biryani after eating hopeless one's in Navi Mumbai, but after tasting the Biryani here you truly thank the Persians for introducing this dish to India. Well its pretty close to an authentic Hyderabadi Biryani in Navi Mumbai.
This Biryani has rice perfectly cooked, tender meat, follows rules of biryani that no grain of rice sticks together, has splashes of saffron all over and has all the herbs and spices adding to the flavour. Every spoon of the biryani freshens your mouth giving a feeling of salvation.
They also have amazing Andhra biryani , succulent Rambo Kabab, creamy thick chicken gravy, spicy chicken 65 and several other yummy dishes.

This place is better for take away, as there is only place for 4 - 6 to sit.
They serve from 12pm to 3pm and from 7.30 pm onwards (seen their shop open at 11pm as well)

This place has been shut, I suppose he could not sustain or the deteriorating taste. These specialties restaurants usually are run on the shoulders of the chef, If he decides to move out the establishment looses its grip on the customers.
This place has been taken over over by another person. I tried the food and did not get what i wanted.
Once chapter closed.

Pani Puri Maushi in Sanpada

Paani Puri Maushi in Sanpada

Maushi near the park in Sector -9 , Sanpada, makes the yummiest filling for the puri and her Pani it awakens your taste buds like never before. You have options to choose from teeka, medium and meeta. But whatever you take , you end up tummy happy.
You would remember your mom when she says "आज क्या खिलाऊ बेटा" "aaj kya kilaou beta" . She operates from a hand pushed cart. The stuff she uses also is pretty hygienic as neither me nor my son have ever fell sick after having it.
Beside her kart there is "Bhajiya Bhaiya" he makes the yummiest mirchi bhajiya , bread pakoda and the masala to go with it is awesome.
So go ahead and try these small time places , you would never regret it.

Vada pav in Mahape

Mahape Vada Pav

Been in Mumbai, ok not Mumbai but navi Mumbai. There is really a vast difference in the both these cities, the only commonality being Mumbai and of course the Vada Pav. Vada pav is a world famous in Mumbai (as its usually said).
Going back to the history of Vada pav, The Vada pav was first made by Mr. Ashok Vaidya a snack vendor  near Dadar station. This was way back in mid 1900
The Vada is a also called batata vada, where Batata is for potato.  Pav is form of unsweetened bread also know as Bun. Both Batata and Pav came through Portuguese where Batata is potato and Pav is Pao.
Auntyji - DAKC Gate No. - 3
The best place to have a vada pav on the road side, if you can stop worrying about the sanity you will be able to enjoy the taste of the poor man’s burger.
Coming back to Navi Mumbai.  I work in Millennium business park, Mahape. There are 3 major vendors. One near the Mahape bus stand and other 2 opposite DAKC gate no. 3.
The first one, has a flattened the Vada, , however it’s not the best. The next one at gate no. 3 is made by Auntyji. Vada pav is one of the items she sells which include kanda bhajiya, samosa and other types of bhajiya. It’s a regular shape and size of the vada. And then we talk about the 3rd vendor Pandit (For loaction click below) who only sells Vada pav. The worst thing is that it is always crowded, but then that means you always get a fresh and hot Vada. The Vada is round in shape and of good size. The outer crust is crispy and then the batata has a perfect taste. When the vada goes into the Pav it becomes the best Vada Pav in the Navi Mumbai.
This guy usually starts at around 4.00 pm and closes off by 9.00pm. He charges Rs. 6.00 per vada pav. So next time you are in Manape, Navi Mumabi and want a vada pav, you need to shout “ए पंडित एक वडा पाव देना"  "A pandit ek Vadapav de na” Have it and enjoy it..
